Aleksander Koelbel


Aleksander Koelbel was born in 1984 and started playing the violin at the age of 7.  He was admitted to the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music in 2003 with further studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. In 2008, he was admitted to the world renowned Menuhin Academy in Switzerland, where he studied for 3 years. Through this, he became a member of Camerata Lysy and performed numerous times as a soloist, including in Basel Konzerthaus and Zürich Tonhalle. Since 2011 he has studied with the famous professor Y. Tchougaeva and Viktor Tretyakov and is since 2019 the artistic director of the renowned danish chamber music festival “Kammermusik ved Fjorden”.

As a chamber musician and soloist he has performed in the recent years at international festivals in Gstaad, Venice, Dubrovnik, Toscana and Salzburg. In 2019, he made his debut in the USA with a tour in California and has in the recent years furthermore served as guest concertmaster with orchestras and ensembles in Denmark and abroad.
