Anna-Liisa Bezrodny


Anna-Liisa Bezrodny is currently in great demand as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician all over the world.

Anna-Liisa was born in Moscow and at the age of two she began her violin studies with her parents. She proceeded to study at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, in the class of her parents, Prof. Igor Bezrodny and Prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, as well as at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, with Yfrah Neaman. She has won awards in several international competitions, a.o. GSMD Gold Medal 2006. She has also been awarded the Pro Musica Foundation prize and the Estonian Cultural Foundation honorary award 2013.

Over the years Anna-Liisa has appeared as soloist and chamber musician all over Europe, USA, Asia, Russia and more. She has performed with orchestras such as Gewandhaus Leipzig Orkester, Mitt-Deutsches Rundfunk Orkester, Leipzig, Zürich Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London, Philharmonia Orchestra, London, Chile Symphony Orchestra, Riga National Orchestra, Moscow Symphony, S:t Petersburg Symphony Orchestra a.o.

Anna-Liisa is a very devoted chamber musician and performs in festivals all over the world. She has collaborated with Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Maxim Vengerov, Barnabas Kelemen, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Ivry Gitlis, Alexander Rudin, Liana Isakadze, Lisa Batiashvili, Sayaka Shoji, Vikingur Olafsson, a.o. As a soloist she has collaborated with conductors such as Leif Segerstam, Neeme Järvi, Kristjan Järvi,  Paavo Järvi, Sir Colin Davis, Eri Klas,  Nikolay Alekseyev, Okko Kamu, Sascha Goetzel, Juha Kangas, Leonid Grin, Sian Edwards and many more. Her repertoire spans from baroque to contemporary music, and many composers, such as Tõnu Kõrvits, Rein Rannap, Harri Wessmann, Jaan Rääts has composed and dedicated works to her.

Anna-Liisa has together with pianist Ivari Ilja recorded a solo album för ALBA as well as Mozart's and Haydn's concertos for the lable ERP Music Productions. She has also recorded the Estonian composer Eino Tamberg's violin concerto ans Mendelssohn's octet together with Maxim Vengerov among others.

Anna-Liisa is a professor at Karlsruhe Hochschule für Musik in Germany. She also is a violin professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Purcell School in London.

Anna-Liisa Bezrodny currently plays on an Amati violin, kindly on loan from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
