Pianist and organist Matti Pohjoisaho studied organ and church music at the Sibelius Academy, where he obtained an A degree in organ playing and improvisation. He has also been an exchange student at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Pohjoisaho is currently studying piano at Centria University of Applied Sciences for Ulla Roiko-Jokela. As a pianist, he has participated in master classes for Konstantin Bogino, Antti Hotti, Liisa Pohjola and Arto Satukangas among others. Pohjoisaho is an experienced musician both in solo concerts and together with singers and instrumentalists. He has performed as a soloist with i.a. Ostrobothnia's young symphonists in the performance of Alexandre Guilmant's organ symphony under the direction of Janne Nisonen in 2017 in Kokkola church. He feels particularly close to piano and organ music from the Romantic period, but his repertoire includes works from the Renaissance to the present day.
